Outreach Mission

Gravy and Grace to some is just men and women coming off the street at 8:30a.m. on Sunday morning to eat. However, it’s much, much more. The ultimate goal of Gravy and Grace is to give grace, hoping that through that time someone’s life will be changed by the power of the Lord Jesus Christ. Approximately fourteen men have had an opportunity to go through rehabilitation through Teen Challenge; about five have gone through the Salvation Army rehabilitation program; one has gone through Friends of Alcoholics; and several have gone through the Veterans Administration drug program. Many have been helped to get drivers’ licenses or IDs so that they could secure gainful employment. Some have been helped to reconnect with their families.

You see, the best kept secret in South Jackson is that Alta Woods United Methodist Church is not just a mission church, but it is a church that is carrying out a mission for the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord has enabled us to help so many people, and I believe that through Him we can reach even more people for Him in the coming year.
